Natalia is drugged by her boyfriend Julián and runs over Paolo, a promising young soccer player, who is left paralyzed. Franco decides to defend Alba, a woman serving a sentence for having committed euthanasia on her husband.

Franco agrees to help Alba with her case despite his firm's opposition. Paolo meets Natalia, unaware that she was the one who ran him over. Roberta attempts to kill her daughter's extortionist to save her. Natalia breaks up with Julián.

Julián threatens Natalia so she won't end their relationship. Ingrid makes it clear to Alba that she will raise Gabriel in her place and that Alba deserves to remain in prison. Thanks to Javier's testimony and Franco's defense, Alba is released.

Ingrid causes trouble between Gabriel and Alba by accusing her of kidnapping, but Franco manages to prevent the police from getting involved. Roberta and Julián enter into a game of threats over Natalia's secret.

Natalia discovers that Paolo was the person who was run over. Julián humiliates Paolo by making him feel ashamed of his disability and convinces him that Natalia only pities him. Ingrid blames Alba in front of everyone attending Javier's memorial mass.

Ingrid hides the fact that she was the one who actually disconnected Javier. Roberta suffers a severe crisis when she believes Franco is cheating on her with Alba. Roberta's breakdown prevents Natalia from testifying to the police.

Julián makes Natalia believe that he has found the man who was run over and puts them in contact. Paolo begins his rehabilitation. Roberta organizes a party for Franco, and Alba arrives to serve the banquet.

Ingrid tells Mauro and Roberta that Alba and Franco are lovers. Roberta attacks Alba and demands that she stay away from Franco. Julián forces Natalia to continue their relationship and break Paolo's heart. Franco breaks up with Roberta.

Franco leaves the house. Gabriel gets into trouble with Pedro after confessing his feelings to him. Paolo comes up with a plan to make money. Julián, anonymously, makes Franco realize that Natalia is connected to the accident.

Julián confesses to Natalia that Paolo could indeed be the person who was run over. Natalia leaves Franco a message confessing that she was the one who ran over Paolo, but Roberta prevents him from hearing it.

Gabriel witnesses another of Ingrid's episodes, in which she believes she sees and talks to Javier. Natalia prepares a surprise dinner for Paolo. Roberta confronts Alba and makes it clear that she is just a fling in Franco's life.

Franco fails to convince Alba that their meeting at the hotel was a misunderstanding. Gabriel gives the social worker a video of one of Ingrid's episodes. Mauro confesses to Franco that he set up the hotel meeting with Alba.

Natalia has a breakdown when she confirms that she was the one who ran over Paolo. Mauro intervenes so that the judge dismisses the video presented against Ingrid. Ingrid makes Gabriel believe that Alba got rid of Javier because she no longer wanted to take care of him.

Roberta interrupts a meal between Franco and Alba. Natalia faces a dilemma between telling Franco the truth or listening to Roberta, who is trying to protect her. Roberta offers Paolo money to stay away from Natalia.

Natalia breaks Paolo's heart again by telling him she has gone back to Julián. Ingrid pays a woman to spend the night with Gabriel. Katia makes Natalia believe that she has gotten back together with Paolo. Alba sends Gabriel a message over the radio.

Roberta ruins Alba's message by making a malicious call to the radio station. She attacks Alba and threatens to kill her. Roberta asks Franco to get back together with her in exchange for not killing Alba.

Gabriel begins to fall ill because of Ingrid. Roberta confesses to Franco that she is pregnant to force him to take her out of the rehabilitation center. Tired of Julián's threats, Natalia challenges him to tell Paolo the truth.

Roberta kills Luciana in retaliation for not helping her get pregnant. Ingrid helps Roberta escape from the rehabilitation center. Franco comforts Alba after Gabriel rejects her.

Julián breaks up with Natalia, leaving her alone and humiliated. Ingrid and Roberta dump Luciana's body in a landfill. Paolo accepts Natalia back into his life. Alba and Franco give in to their feelings and kiss.

Gabriel is disappointed when he sees Alba with Franco and distances himself from her again. Roberta tries to discourage Natalia from continuing her relationship with Paolo. Ingrid prevents Gabriel from looking for Alba and puts him to sleep. News of Luciana's death comes to light as a murder.

Paolo is attacked on the street and his wheelchair is stolen. Gabriel hires Franco to help Alba against Ingrid. Roberta accepts Ingrid's proposal to find a man to get her pregnant.

Roberta asks Ingrid to let her use her house to meet with her lover. Gael is injured after discovering Julián with one of Paolo's thieves. Ingrid uses the police to take Gabriel back to her house.

Franco and Alba give in to their feelings and share an unrestrained kiss. Paolo and Natalia try to spend their first night together, but Julián interrupts them by confessing that it was a woman who ran him over.

Alba gives Franco a letter in which she confesses her feelings for him. A doctor informs Ingrid that Gabriel has begun to show the same symptoms as his father. Drunk, Julián confesses to Katia the truth about Paolo's accident.

Roberta shows Ingrid the letter Alba wrote to Franco. Roberta spends the night with Tiziano and discovers that he cannot have children. Roberta confronts Alba about the letter she wrote to Franco and asks her not to take his love away.

Katia takes Paolo to Julián so he can tell him the truth about his accident. Roberta tries to kill Mauro, but Franco stops her. Alba saves Mauro from dying of a heart attack. Ingrid keeps seeing Javier, who tells her that she will not be able to save Gabriel.

Alba catches Roberta kissing Tiziano. Franco confesses that he is willing to give up everything for her. Paolo and Natalia share a special moment in the forest. Pedro finds Julieta and Gabriel kissing.

Ingrid plans to take revenge on Julieta and pretends to be Alba to threaten her, causing conflict with Gabriel. Paolo asks Natalia to marry him. Roberta threatens to kill herself to interrupt the special night between Franco and Alba.

Natalia and Paolo announce their engagement in front of Franco and Roberta. Mauro discovers that Julián is Ingrid's lover. Natalia records a video confessing to Paolo that she was the one who ran him over, not knowing that he is in the house.

Because of a coincidence, Paolo doesn't find out the truth about Natalia. Roberta tells Franco that she plans to divorce him, unaware that this could put Alba's freedom at risk. Mauro proposes marriage to Ingrid.

Roberta tries to get rid of Katia, but Julián stops her. Mauro is intrigued when he sees a photo of Alba's mother. Ingrid decides to lift the restraining order against Alba. Natalia leaves without giving any explanations to Paolo or Franco.

Mauro catches Tiziano and Roberta together in his house. Paolo decides to break up with Natalia after realizing their relationship won't work. Tiziano plants a bomb in Franco's car, putting both his life and Alba's in danger.

The bomb turns out to be just a threat from Tiziano against Franco. Mauro offers Ingrid that she move in with him. Natalia intends to confess the truth to Paolo and Franco, but Julián shows up with the alleged culprit of the accident.

Margarita confesses to Natalia that Roberta threatened her into lying about Franco's alleged attack. Paolo accuses Julián of paying Rufino to confess to the crime. Alba speaks to the media to clear her name.

Natalia leaves home disappointed in Roberta and spends the night at Paolo's house. Even though Roberta forces Franco to leave the house, she asks him not to leave her alone. Roberta confesses to Tiziano that she was the one who ran over Paolo.

Tiziano commits a terrible act. Ingrid discovers that Gabriel has the same illness as Javier and hides it from Alba. Franco and Alba resume their trip to Acapulco.

Roberta plans to take her own life, while Franco shares a romantic moment with Alba on the beach. Mauro confirms that Alba is his daughter. Tiziano tries to save Roberta, but the situation spirals out of control and Julián's life is put in danger.

Gabriel discovers that he has leukemia. Roberta reproaches Mauro for the fact that Alba is his daughter. Julián's life remains in danger, and Natalia stays by his side, hoping he will recover.

Julián's condition is critical and he could die. On Tiziano's advice, Roberta agrees to enter a clinic, on the condition that he help her get out later. Gabriel tries to win Julieta back, but she rejects him.
