Mi Rae, an ugly girl, who just wanted to get love like others, gets plastic surgery before going into university. Mi Rae dreams of beautiful twenties with her new face, but her self esteem decrease in front of Soo A, who is a natural beauty. Moreover, Kyung Seok, a middle school classmate, who knows about Mi Rae's face before her plastic surgery, appears in front of her.

Mi Rae receives all the attention at the orientation. Mi Rae feels awkward to get people's attention. Chan Woo plainly approaches Mi Rae, while Soo A seems to look at them with suspicious eyes. Meanwhile, Kyung Seok keeps appearing in front of Mi Rae. Mi Rae feels anxious as Kyung Seok knows her past face. However, her heart flutters at the same time.

The day after the frosh week party, Chan Woo makes the freshmen assemble. Out of revenge, Chan Woo tries to make Mi Rae suffer. Meanwhile, people find out that Kyung Seok and Mi Rae went to the same middle school.

The incident at the lab gets people talking again. Meanwhile, Mi Rae meets her role model, Hye Sung, at the perfume sampling event. While spending time with her, she learns something about Kyung Seok. Mi Rae gets a call from Hye Sung and falls in a dilemma.

Mi Rae finally finds out who has been following her at night. With the school festival coming up, Mi Rae is asked to wait the tables as one of the servers of the chemistry department. Mi Rae and Kyung Seok clear up the misunderstandings they had between each other over some beer.

While waiting tables at the festival, Yong Chul recognizes Mi Rae and humiliates her. She learns that it was Soo A that invited Yong Chul to the school and becomes confused. Soo A explains herself, saying that she didn't know she was inviting the person who graduated from the same middle school as her.

Left alone in the room, Mi Rae can't get Kyung Seok out of her head and keeps thinking about the situation. Meanwhile, Ji Hyo finds out something about Kyung Seok by looking at his phone. On top of that, he hears about how Hye Sung got hospitalized.

For the class assignment, Kyung Seok and Mi Rae watch a movie together. Mi Rae tells herself that it's not a date, but at the end of the day, she realizes that she won't be able to think of Kyung Seok as just a guy friend. Meanwhile, Kyung Seok is looking for a place to stay and a way to make money.

After deciding to live with Woo Young away from his family, Kyung Seok starts realizing the hardships of life one by one. Mi Rae keeps her guard up, trying to see Kyung Seok as just a guy friend. When Hye Sung drops by Mi Rae's neighborhood, she runs into Kyung Seok again.

Mi Rae gets a part-time job, and Kyung Seok also gets hired at the same place. Kyung Seok and Kyung Hee learn about the truth behind why their mom left them. Meanwhile, Soo A asks Mi Rae to meet to discuss something.

Mi Rae convinces herself that her unnatural beauty is not good enough for Kyung Seok. Kyung Hee and Hye Sung try to rebuild their relationship.

Kyung Seok asks Mi Rae why she can't go out with him. Although he can't understand, he tells her that he will wait for her. Even after turning Kyung Seok down, Mi Rae can't stop thinking about it. Meanwhile, Woo Young asks her to have dinner with him.

Soo A openly announces that she likes Kyung Seok to the people at the lab. Mi Rae starts thinking that Soo A might not be any different from her. Soo A's actions help Mi Rae make up her mind, and Mi Rae finally confronts Soo A.

Kyung Seok and Mi Rae start dating without telling anyone. However, dating secretly isn't easy. They try everything they can to not get caught by others. Meanwhile, strange things are happening around Soo A.

Mi Rae and Kyung Seok have only happy days ahead of them now, so they decide to let everyone know that they're dating each other. As everyone learns that they're dating now, Soo A's identity gets known too. Meanwhile, Mi Rae and Kyung Seok visit their old middle school together.

Mi Rae and Kyung Seok miss the last bus to Seoul and get to spend a night at Mi Rae's parents house. Mi Rae's parents find out that she is now dating Kyung Seok. Also, everyone else learns that Mi Rae and Kyung Seok are now a couple. In the meantime, Soo A gets threatened and attacked by a man who has been stalking her.
