Derek heads to North Wales to collect an Austin 7, and a gem of a Bentley – a British classic with coachwork built by top notch Parisian outfit Kellner who specialised in luxury. Derek is smitten with the Bentley – "stunning", "amazing" and "beautiful" are just some of the words he has for this marvellous motor. Paul has a mission much closer to home. He's picking up a Riley Kestrel from around the corner in Pickering. The Kestrel – which is basically a posh Austin Morris 1100 – has been collecting dust in a garage for twenty years but its departure will still be a big deal. Plus, a 1973 BMW R60 5 motor bike that was won in a lottery arrives at the Mathewson's.

Derek heads to Doncaster to collect four vintage BSAs motorbikes including one said to be the rarest BSA of all. Dave's bowled over not once but twice by a couple of stunning examples of British and French automotive styling. And it's Charlie's first day as a full-time employee, but he's soon distracted when a space age powder pink Vauxhall Cresta catches his eye.

Derek makes the short trip to a mysterious Yorkshire beauty spot to pick up a 1920s style bus that isn't all that it seems. Paul has the chance to explore his obsession with police vehicles and an Eastern European relic impresses nobody.

Paul is off to the Lake District for a poignant collection from a Mathewsons regular - with seven vehicles to load including a Thames Truck, a Zodiac and a Vauxhall Victor. Derek's heading to West Yorkshire for a motorcycling legend, made in Stevenage (it's a Vincent) and a Renault 4CV goes under the hammer

Derek's running late as usual, to collect a Triumph TR8 from Kirby Stephen East Railway Station, with vintage engine ride thrown in for good measure. Back at base, classic car specialists Jack and Dave are strangely drawn to the latest oddity – a Flying Fish hovercraft. And all the way from Longbridge with love is a Rover 213S.

With his pooch Iris to navigate, Derek's off to Bradfod to pick up a 1920s Cyclecar replica and an 1930 MG M racecarthat's been brought back to life following a nasty smash. Dave collects a barely used 1984 Honda Prelude from one of his all time heroes – motorcycle legend, Ron Haslam.

Jack and Amy are on a poignant trip to collect some motorbikes from a widow in the North East of England. Derek is in Scotland picking up a 60s relic of British motoring history and Paul is amazed by a Peugeot 205 with just 29 miles on the clock.

Derek's off to Staffordshire, to collect an unusual haul including a Blue Star Truck and a mysterious Lion Omnibus Reliant. Dave's reliving his youth in a Dukes of Hazzard inspired Plymouth Fury and Jack is impressed by a Ford Escort Mexico replica.

There's Hollywood glamour in the air as Derek heads out to pick up a Rolls Royce that once belonged to Fred Astaire. Meanwhile, an 85-year-old ex racehorse trainer hands Dave the keys to an immaculate Subaru Impreza and an E-Type Jag, while a mix up at Pickering HQ sees the wrong Ford Mexico depart for Northern Ireland.

Austin Healeys have been described as a muscle car - a classic British vehicle that is difficult to tame. Paul and Charlie have the rare chance to pick up a trio of these iconic cars in varying conditions. Even Derek, who is believed to be a bit of a sceptic, loves them, but the market is volatile and they may fail to reach their reserve.Also in the show, Derek faces a sensitive mission in the North East of England when he is asked to pick up three vehicles the day after their owner has died. It turns out all three, a Morris truck, a Ford Prefect 107e and a Vanguard utility vehicle are in pristine condition, a tribute to the skill and dedication of their now deceased owner.Back in Yorkshire a remarkable small piece of precision engineering is brought to Pickering by its owner and designer. It's a soapbox cart created to compete in downhill races at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It's crafted to an extremely high level and held its own against competitors designed by Formula 1 teams. Dave is extremely impressed and would like to own it himself.

Dave collects a Ford Fiesta XR2i that's not moved from a garage for twenty-one years and Derek picks up a 1956 Siva Tourer, made famous in Doctor Who.

Dave has to extricate a VW Golf from a garden that has grown up around it.

Derek is off to Bridlington to pick-up a trio of classics: a Morris 8 tourer, a Mini Van and a 1940s Morris LC3 truck.

Derek heads off to Blackpool to pick up a couple of unusual vehicles - a red 1970 Opel GT (a rare car that is the more affordable sibling of the Corvette), and a 1956 Ford Hot Rod pickup. Derek then takes a trip to the seafront to down some fish and chips and philosophise about the appeal of holidaying at home. Meanwhile, Dave is in Lincolnshire on the trail of a 1970 Jensen Interceptor that's been parked up for years, and a couple from Hampshire have driven up with a fairground organ that they hope will pull in a buyer with its varied repertoire of tunes. But it's a niche market and serious bidders may be hard to find.

Derek meets the owner and builder of a sporty vintage Jaguar "special", a Jaguar Viking. Replicas of classic vehicles can be a mixed bunch - some are shoddy cobbled together copies, others are expertly crafted cars that are gems in their own right. In Leicester Derek visits Stephen Fenwick who has a fine example of the latter - and what's even better is Stephen helped build the car himself. Jack is picking up a car at the other end of the scale when it comes to condition. Alex Pride's 1957 Jensen 541 is in a sorry state. It was his father's car and has been in pieces since an aborted restoration project. Alex has finally decided to free up his drive in Harrogate and send the car to auction.Back at base Dave runs his eye over a utility vehicle that's come from a land Down Under. It's a big beast - a 5 litre-engined Holden Malo. They're popular in Australia but Dave is not a fan at all.

Derek's journeys are often steeped in nostalgia, but today he's taking a trip down memory lane to collect a piece of motoring history he last saw as a teenager. Derek's back in his old stomping ground of Luton, to meet an old schoolmate who is saying goodbye to his 1912 De Dion Bouton. The car hasn't left the garage for almost 50 years and the owner has never driven it, so it's quite an event for the neighbours and family alike.Put the words Ford and Mexico together and watch motorsport fans go weak at the knees. Dave's found a sure-fire seller... a 1976 barn find Ford Mexico mark two.Young Charlie is the youngest member of the Mathewson Motorsport clan, and got a lot to live up to. With Dad Paul in the pits and mum Ange and sister Kate in the support team, the final of the England Junior Rally Championship win is all riding on today.

If there's a tough job to be done, Jack is often the one chosen to be in the firing line.Today he's off to West Yorkshire to extract a 1987 Peugeot 205 GTI from a garage in anarrow lane. The geometry is against Jack but the car is well worth it. It's one of themore prized 1.9s and has been stored safely away for many years whilst its owner hasbeen climbing mountains around the world.Derek is on charitable duties. He's off to Essex to pick up a car and 3 motorbikes whichhave been brought back from Ukraine by people who have been delivering supplies inthe war torn country. The auctionproceeds will be split between the Ukrainian ownersand the British-based charity which provides aid. It's a passion project for Derek butPaul and Dave are far from impressed by the quality of the lots their father brings backto Yorkshire."Specials" which are recreations of classic cars are much maligned in the trade. Derekthough has a real soft spot for them and the dedication of the people who make them.Unsurprising then that he's fallen for the charms of a vehicle that recreates the look of a1929 Alvis Silver Eagle – a serious rival to Bentley in its day.

Car collectors are renowned for generally going a step too far. Despite occasional assertions that "enough is enough",there's always another car to buy. The result is that every now and again a collection has to be pruned. That's the situation faced by Ron Jones. Derek visits Ron's Shropshire farm to pick up four fine examples of Britishautomotive excellence from across the decades.There's a 1937 Austin Seven van hand-painted in the livery of Ron's business, aTriumph TR2 from the mid-50s and a couple of 60s gems; an Austin Healey and a 1965Austin Mini "woodie", so named because of the wooden trim on its bodywork. They areall fine examples of their type.Two very different beasts are also brought into Thornton le Dale. Owner DouglasMcLay is parting with two cars he's raced on tracks all over the country - an MGA and aTerrapin. Derek, who thinks cars should be respected and well treated not thrashedaround a race track, is less than impressed.He's more intrigued by a pair of AAmotor-bike and sidecar units in their original AAcolours. These stunning 60s bikes evoke memories of the days when AA men used tosalute members as they drove past.And, this week, it's not all work. Member of the team find time to head to the North Eastfor the Andrew Hardy Classics Car Show where a 13 year old lad who loves getting hishands dirty under the bonnet is showing off his restored VW Golf.

The Mathewsonsdon't just deal in classic cars. Paul and his son Charlie head to Leicestershireto collect a vintage Albion truck. For owner Tom Harrison it's been a part of his family for over half a century. Steeped in nostalgia, it belonged to Tom's Dad and holds treasured memories oftravelling to car shows together when Tom was a boy. Both Paul and Charlie fall for theAlbion's charms and its rare collection of travelling hardware shop memorabilia.Derek heads to Congleton to pick-up a much-loved personal collection belonging to a Lambrettaenthusiast. They've been ridden and maintained by Don Marshall for 40 years, but now it'stime to move them on. "We're only custodians of these things, you can't take them with you"says Don, so heading Pickering way are three Lambrettas including a rare 125 DL and one that'sstill a bit of a project. Also going under the hammer is his Yamaha DT.In a bubble of its own is the ever-fluctuating Classic Ford market. Back at the auction, there'smuch interest in a two-owner, totally original Sierra Cosworth in diamond white with 32000 on the clock… sixteen thousand pounds from a Ford main dealer back in 1987.

Original low mileage vehicles are the holy grail for collectors of most cars – butespecially Fords. Dave is optimistic as he travels to leafy Leicestershire where StevePerry has a pair of them, a 1980 Ford Granada Ghia and a 1981 Ford Cortina. TheCortina, remarkably, has just 9000 miles on the clock. Dave's optimism is well founded when he assesses what he feels are amongst the best examples of this era Fords in thewhole country.Paul has found a 4 wheeled pearl closer to home - a 1990 Audi Quattro which is lurkingat HQ. The car - which heralded the motor industry's digital computerised age - is inbeautiful condition. It also happens to be alimited edition vehicle signed by Swedishrallying legend Stig Blomqvist.Derek meanwhile is off on a jaunt to the east coast seaside resort of Bridlington. He'svisiting Peter Marson who runs a vintage emporium in the town. Peter specialises inmotorbikes and scooters. Derek isinterested in a couple of vintage bikes but uncoverssome other treasures too in Peter's packed shop.

Derek heads up the A1 to County Durham where Neil Walker is reluctantly letting hislate dad's car collection go. There's a Wolseley Hornet, a Simon Templar Volvo P1800and an unusual Japanese take on a classic British Jag; the Mitsuoka Viewt. Half Nissan, half Mk II Jaguar and a whole lot of oddity. Even so Derek thinks it will dowell. Star of the haul though is a 1960 MGA Roadster. As Derek says `it's one of thenicest driving British cars that there is'Paul's in the wilds of North Cumbria to collect a 1964 Sunbeam Rapier and a 1959Hillman Huskey. They'd been the owners pride and joy, but he's decided to letsomeone else get the pleasure from them. Back at base Derek's not sure they are allthat they seem. A quick test with the magnet shows the Sunbeam has fibreglasspanels. `It'd have been muchbetter if the Hillman had a pair of plastic wings, and theSunbeam had had original ones'. `They are a bedroom wall poster supercar, that hasn't gone galactic with values' saysDave of the Lotus Esprit Turbo that's just tipped up. It's a car made famous by theJames Bond films and when new owner Neil saw it he knew he had to have it `Here isa car that merits my attention' . And he knew he'd grabbed a bargain; 20,000 mileson the clock, an immaculate chassis, and a near pristine interior. A whole lot ofcarfor the money and a very definitely a licence to thrill.

It's the end of a busy week after another successful auction and while Derek's in the yard tryingto fettle a 1967 Ford Zodiac, Dave's heading off across the North Yorkshire moors to collect aFord Fiesta XR2i that's been stuck in a leaky garage for the past twenty-one years. When theMathewsonsaren't selling cars, they're racing them, so Jack and Paul have taken their FordEscort Mk1 and Mk2 rally cars to Dalton Forest for a relaxing weekend tearing around the pine-fringed tracks. Also keen to get out on the road, Derek visits a fantastic private collection inLincolnshire. He returns with an immaculate low mileage 1967 Humber Sceptre; a 1956 SivaTourer with a Ford Popular engine, a car made famous in early episodes of the Dr. Who TVseries; a quirky Garner tractor and a 100 year-old horse-drawn hay wagon. Back at the garage,a lovely 1953 AJS motorcycle is dropped off for the auction by its owner and draws anappreciative crowd.

Dave heads to South Yorkshire to pick up an ordinary car owned by an extraordinary fellow. John Holmes has had his Reliant Robin for 16 years but has decided to sell it to raise money for the children's hospital that changed his life when he was a child. Also, Derek is glad of the help loading up when he lands in Surrey to collect three vintage Triumphs that haven't been driven in years. And there's much amusement when a BSA Bantam tips up, complete with everything you'd need for a picnic.

Derek travels to the Yorkshire coast to pick up a 1963 Austin J2 Paralanian campervan, described as the "Rolls Royce of campervans".Meanwhile Dave heads south to pick up an extremely rare 1969 Ford Cortina 3000 GT Savage Estate that was owned by the legendary British racing driver and creator of the Savage brand of modified Cortinas himself, Jeff Uren. Back at the garage, a Ford Sierra Sapphire 2000E in near mint condition is dropped off for the auction, Jack enjoys some classic tunes from a Scottish bagpiper and young Charlie shows off his new rally car.

Derek heads to Sunderland to pick up a real Italian beauty - a 1972 Lancia Fulvia Zagato.? Red and racy, the car has seen better days, but Derek's still impressed "It looks like it'd do 100mph standing still".?Meanwhile, a 3-litre V6 Ford Capri complete with roll cage, is wheeled out for the first time in nearly 40 years. And a serial car buyer from Lichfield finds he can't say no to a stunning 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.?The car, dating from the late 1960s, has been lovingly restored, and all it took was one look for Wayne to fall in love and buy it.? Derek too is bowled over by its charm: "when you get one as nice as this, they do hit you".

These vans were popular with all the big utilities back in the day - the?Royal Mail, the water boards, the electricity companies and even the Co-op, relied on these?good old British workhorses.? But not many have survived in the condition this one has.? Derek is suitably impressed and expects it'll make?ten grand easily.?Meanwhile, a pristine 1974 Toyota Corona finds a new home in the sleepy rural backwaters of Ireland, and the vintage Japanese car is in tip top condition.

Derek's popped down the road to check out an abandoned 1985 Renault 4 and an MGB Roadster that hasn't seen the light of day for 36 years. Tucked in the Pickering yard is a German 1959 Westfalia 4 berth caravan and Jack heads to Rotherham to pick-up a pair of rare white Bond Bugs.

Derek heads to Northumberland to collect a rare 1975 NSU RO 80. Jack's drawn the short straw again with a Mini Mayfair stuck in a barn, and there'll be a bidding frenzy when the battered husk of an Aston Martin DBS goes under the hammer.

On the way to pick up two lovely '70s Lotus sports cars, Derek takes to the skies for his first ever helicopter flight in a 1967 Bell 47 chopper. Back at base, Dave says "bonjour" to a '60s Renault Dauphine while Paul manoeuvres a beautiful 1957 E.R.F. lorry through a packed yard. At auction, there's some terrific vintage metal signs on offer along with Derek's very own 1967 Reliant Scimitar - a project that he's just not had enough weekends to fettle.

Paul hits the road to collect an old navy ambulance that served its time as a holiday camper. An ultra-rare Vauxhall Viscount has Derek making a long trip north but he's in the doghouse when he forgets to warn the troops at base that a huge vintage Atkinson lorry is about to turn up.

Dave travels to Bedale to extract a barn find 1984 Manta GTE which hasn't seen the light of day in thirty years. Back at the garage there's much excitement at the latest arrival - a 1977 TR7 owned by writer and actor Mackenzie Crook which featured in TV hit Detectorists.

Collecting vehicles is generally a solitary task for the Mathewson clan but Derek and Paul are off to Leeds on a rare father and son road trip to pick up a VW Cabriolet and a Lotus Elite. Some stunning cars are put through Mathewsons auctions but very few match the spectacular sight of the 1961 Facel Vega. The buyer will be driving an example of a marque chosen by A-list celebrities like Frank Sinatra, Ringo Starr and Stirling Moss. Derek is impressed by the vehicle's French style and American engineering, "You can keep your Cosworths when you get cars like this... it oozes quality". Plus, a 1925 Talbot Coupe is just as impressive - and is expected to buck the trend that has seen pre-World War Two cars struggling to make good money.

In the Mathewsons showroom, a beautiful looking sports car has been fooling the punters and intriguing Derek. It's a Challenger E-Type - a fibreglass replica created from an E-Type mould that offers a copy-cat Jaguar experience for around a third of the price.Meanwhile, Derek is off to the Midlands to pick up an unusual converted convertible – an MG ZB Magnette. It's a rare four-seater tourer that was the pride and joy of a prolific Staffordshire car collector who has sadly passed away.Paul isn't straying outside Yorkshire – he's in the west of the county collecting a 1962 Singer Vogue that's been restored by a man who loves preserving old vehicles and always has numerous projects on the go.

Paul and Jack head to Staffordshire to pick up five vehicles from collector Rob's colossal barn, including a Mini and a Morris Minor.

Derek heads across the Pennines to Salford to pick up some hot saloons including a rare VW Jetta GTi and a Ford Sierra Cosworth. A 1935 Riley Falcon is sold only to be bought by the vendor's neighbour, and there's some detective work going on in the garage to work out what's happened to a Rover P6.

Derek brings a small army of military hardware to Thornton le Dale including a Studebaker Weasel tracked vehicle and a WW2 era Willys Jeep. A dusty and long forgotten Ford Escort XR3i emerges from a barn in North Wales, and a small but perfectly formed Rollo Croftmaster tractor lands at the garage.

Paul's on a mega collection spree that scoops up a cherished 1924 Rover 9, a stunning 1963 Jaguar C-Type replica, that's toured Europe and a skilfully modified MGB GT that's a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Back at base, Derek's hoping a rare Triumph Tina Scooter can be rehomed.

Jack is in North Yorkshire picking up a beast of a Mercedes that's had a problematic paint job. Derek waxes lyrical about a pristine Jaguar XJ8 and a Ford Model T van tests his driving skills.

Derek picks up a lovingly restored 1925 Calthorpe motorbike that he thinks is more of a work of art than anything ever produced by Picasso. There's a barn-find Triumph TR4A and a family from Lancashire add another vehicle to their collection of Rootes manufactured cars. Meanwhile, Paul and Charlie collect a pair of veteran motors from the East Midlands.

A rusty 1970 Fiat 500 goes under the hammer - Derek reckons it's the kind of vehicle that is so iconic that it has to be saved.

Tucked away in the showroom is a WW2-era Willys Jeep. Its original condition means there might be a bunfight for a military vehicle that's ripe for restoration.

Up for auction this week is a 1980 Ford Escort, a hand-built 1946 Bedford 12 electric car, and a beautiful, red 1957 Austin Healey.

Derek collects a beautifully restored and carefully modified 1936 Wolseley 14/56. Meanwhile Dave's dealing with two rally-inspired modern classics in need of some TLC; a Vauxhall Chevette HS and a Ford RS2000. Derek rubs shoulders with pop music royalty when he picks up a Morgan sports car, a World War Two ambulance arrives at Thornton le Dale and a Ford Model T needs a new home.Derek collects a Morgan sports car that belongs to singer and guitarist Joe Brown. Joe's moving on his 1982 Morgan Plus 8. It's all in a day's work for Derek, who's already had a day of hobnobbing with rock and roll royalty. On the back of his trailer is a 1979 Clenet roadster that he's just picked up from the drummer in the heavy metal band Motorhead. Back at base Chris Carter has just dropped off his wartime Austin K2 ambulance. The vehicle was used on the South Coast to transport wounded soldiers from the ships to hospital.Also making an appearance is a 1915 Ford Model T that belongs to Ray and Tracy Knox. They're hoping that someone else will fall in love with their very original motor that's one of the most influential cars ever made. Derek's a big fan - not just of the car - but of Henry Ford's penny-pinching philosophy!

This week at the Mathewsons', there's a 1982 Audi Quattro and a Sunbeam Alpine. Plus, Derek takes delivery of a beautiful green Renault van, previously used as a bread van in Paris.

There's nothing that Derek likes less than collecting vehicles when it's wet - so his heart sinks when he arrives in Scotland in a torrential downpour to pick up a couple of rare cars from the 1960s, a 1968 Series II Jaguar E-type with a 4.2 litre engine and a 1969 MGC convertible.Back at Thornton le Dale a new arrival has everyone scratching their heads. It's a Toyota MR2 that's been converted to look like a Ferrari F355 GTS (pictured). Nigel Bettison-Eatch bought the motor for three grand and spent ten more doing it up as a look-a-like. The real thing would cost £100,000.??

There's a surprise waiting for Derek in Hull - it's an MGSA sports car that once had a tree growing through it.Over in North Wales, Alan Holmes is selling his son's Ford Escort RS 1600i. Back in the 80's it was one of Britain's most sought-after cars, a favourite of boy racers across the land.

Derek picks up a rare Ford Zodiac Farnham Estate, while Dave heads for an isolated tent in the Midlands to collect a Triumph Toledo. And will anyone have the bottle to buy an electric milk float?
