Mark and Klara move into their new shared apartment. While Klara repairs the washing machine, the WaPo team is busy with their next case. Expensive yachts are being stolen around Duisburg. Jäger and Mark lie in wait at the marina to catch the perpetrators in the act. Mark is kidnapped in the process. The team does everything it can to solve the case and rescue Mark—even if it means relying on Carsten Heinrich's help. 

The WaPo investigates the murder of Rasmus Lorenzen, whose body is found on the banks of the Rhine. He was apparently killed in his villa and then disposed of in the Rhine. Nadine finds a threatening letter that leads the WaPo to the victim's housekeeper, Isabel Martinez. Rasmus apparently also exploited his position of power in relation to his service providers and made Isabel work for him for free under a pretext. Did she finally make good on her threat and kill Rasmus in a fit of rage?

During Arda's last days at work, Katja Schwarz's body is found on the banks of the Rhine. To the surprise of Arda and his boss Kruppka, Heinrich asks the WaPo for help this time. A message on the dead woman's cell phone leads Arda and Heinrich to Yilmaz, with whom the young woman had spent the last night. During a search of his apartment, the investigators find the crime scene and the case seems clear at first. But the lifeguard denies everything.

An argument between stand-up paddler Dietmar Knaus and scrap dealer Walther Bracht escalates. Jäger and Mark have to mediate. Everything seems to have been resolved, but then Knaus is suddenly found dead in the Rhine. Did Bracht shoot him? Carsten Heinrich has other concerns—a series of ATM explosions is causing unrest in Duisburg. While Heinrich is in the dark about his case, the WaPo is making progress in its investigation. Who is responsible for the paddler's death?

Carsten Heinrich is under pressure both professionally and privately. Klara testifies that she allegedly received a call from Heinrich, which leads to an ultimatum from his superior, Police Chief Jürgen Proske: Terwart must be found. At the same time, Heinrich's mother disappears from the retirement home. To solve the cases, he asks the WaPo for help.

Heinrich assumes it was an accident and quickly transfers the case to the WaPo. The victim happens to be the owner of another electric scooter rental company. For the WaPo, that's too many coincidences. Who had a motive to kill the businessman? His former business partner, with whom he was at loggerheads and whose girlfriend he had stolen, or the environmental activist Olaf Horst, who is already known for his questionable protests? Meanwhile, boss Kruppka has completely different problems.

The WaPo investigates a case of domestic violence on a tanker ship. No sooner have Jäger and his team taken care of the frightened Anna Roth than the next emergency call comes in. A dead body has been found on the same tanker—suffocated by volatile gases in the cargo hold. The dead man is, of all people, the domestic tyrant himself, who worked there as the ship's captain. Carsten Heinrich is convinced that it was the wife, but the WaPo is skeptical and secretly investigates on its own. The dead man was involved in criminal activities. Was that why he had to die?

The WaPo Duisburg is getting a new addition: Mark Neumann is moving from the port of Hamburg to the Ruhr region—and he gets straight down to business.Luxury watches were stolen from the deck of a yacht and the owner, Jürgen Harksen, was seriously injured. For Heinrich, the case is clear, and he jumps on the first suspect, Serdar Mardin, the yacht club intern. But Arda, who knows Serdar, doubts that he committed the crime and continues to investigate with Mark. The shipyard owner seems suspicious, as does the victim's daughter. But then new evidence emerges: Was Heinrich's initial suspicion correct after all?

Valuable engines are stolen from Kruppka's sailing club. A young novice sailor immediately comes under suspicion, but Kruppka has his doubts.Shortly after the crime, it becomes clear that the perpetrator or perpetrators must have had an accomplice from the club. A young sailor who is a thorn in the side of many is suspected. However, Kruppka believes that someone is trying to frame him. She does everything she can to find the real culprit—even if it means her vacation with her wife is ruined.

The owner of the beer sorbet cart is dead. The suspects: a rival food-truck operator, the beer supplier, and the victim's brother. Carsten Heinrich hands the case over to the Water Police, as he had been on leave to take his mother to a nursing home. When she refuses to return, however, he comes back on duty and begins investigating in an unconventional way, right on the spot.

After a campaign by environmental activists, dead fish are found and an environmental alarm is triggered. An environmental activist disappears before she can pass on her information. Heinrich does not take the case seriously, but the WaPo uncovers major criminal activities. Privately, Nadine struggles with her ex, who suddenly seeks contact with his daughter Mira. Nadine discovers that there is more to her ex's contact than meets the eye.

The statue "The Sleeping Neptune" is stolen from a company foyer at the port of Duisburg. The owner suspects the artist, as he had fired a former dock worker. When the police try to track down the artist, they discover that he has been murdered. While Jäger, Arda, and Mark investigate the case, Lena is distracted: she finds a teddy bear in her apartment that she cannot explain. She wonders if she is being stalked. 

After a bachelorette party, three women disappear on a pedal boat at the marina. The boat rental company suspects theft. But Arda and Mark find the boat with two sedated women and the third unconscious with a head injury on the banks of the Rhine. It turns out to be a crime. The WaPo team, supported by Carsten Heinrich, must act quickly to catch the perpetrator. Jäger is on vacation and the criminal investigation department is understaffed, which complicates the investigation.

A fisherman disappears without a trace at a campsite on the Rhine. While the police search for him, Carsten Heinrich discovers the body of a man who was convicted of murder ten years ago and recently released. It turns out that the missing angler and the body are the same person. While investigating the old case, they find evidence that the man was innocent and was murdered because he was on the trail of the real killer.

No sooner has the WaPo arrived at the port of Duisburg than the next corpse is found floating in the water. But Carsten Heinrich is quicker off the mark and seizes the case. That doesn't stop the WaPo team: they secretly start their own investigation. The dead woman was a crane operator – but who wanted her dead?

Thanks to the support of her father Gerhard Jäger, Nadine has finally found a new apartment. But while they are renovating it together, someone breaks into the empty apartment.What could the perpetrator have been looking for there? The apartment clearly has a secret, which Gerhard is reluctant to reveal to his colleagues. Nadine's previous tenant is his old acquaintance Wolfgang Brink: a drug smuggler who had to vacate the apartment for a long prison sentence.

Chief Inspector Carsten Heinrich from the Criminal Investigation Department has a date that unfortunately goes badly wrong. After finishing the champagne on his boat all by himself and drunkenly falling asleep, things take an even darker turn. He is awakened in the middle of the night by a scream and witnesses a woman being strangled on a yacht!

While Arda and WaPo boss Kruppka are off to a police conference, Jäger is supposed to be calmly preparing for his exam in maritime English. But there's no peace and quiet to be had.Shortly afterwards, a currywurst stand on the Rhine is robbed. The perpetrator speeds away with the loot on a jet ski.

A fisherman is reported missing by his wife and shortly afterwards found dead in the Rhine by the WaPo.The couple had been camping in the nature reserve with a friend. A crime of passion has not been ruled out, especially since the wife insists that her husband had been involved in a heated argument with another fisherman, a sinister-looking man, about the remote fishing spot shortly before his disappearance.

While Arda Turan is training at her old club once again, a young swimmer collapses. Arda saves her, but the young swimmer falls into a coma.The accident affects Arda deeply. It turns out that the young talent had been pumped full of contaminated steroids. When her alleged dealer is found dead shortly afterwards, suspicion falls on Arda's old coach.

A young couple wanted to spend a romantic night under the stars. But they were robbed...And then seriously injured while chasing the perpetrator! WaPo chief Kruppka asks her team to take on this case outside of their usual duties.

The supposed flotsam recovered by the WaPo turns out to be a body.Wrapped in a plastic sheet and tied tightly, the dead man was weighted down and secured to the bottom of the Rhine. The DNA sample taken for identification reveals a surprise: the DNA of the deceased had been secured a few weeks earlier in connection with the murder of a student.

Arda Turan, a former competitive swimmer, has just started her job with the Duisburg water police when the first body is found. Stefan Buhl lies dead at the edge of the harbor. What Carsten Heinrich from the criminal investigation department quickly identifies as a fatal accident at work raises doubts in Gerhard Jäger, who was transferred from the homicide division to the "WaPo" as a punishment. One look at the body tells him it was murder. But leave the investigation to the criminal investigation department? No way!

A driverless boat on the Rhine alerts the criminal investigation department – there are traces of blood on deck. But the supposed blood turns out to be red anti-rust paint, and so the case is handed over to the "WaPo" (water police). Jäger quickly realizes that something is wrong and sets out with his colleagues Arda Turan and Frank van Dijk to find the owner. However, Duisburg entrepreneur Niklas Brandt, who owns the boat, has disappeared and his wife is behaving rather strangely. The "WaPo" colleagues want to take a closer look. Surveillance confirms their suspicions: the man has been kidnapped.

The criminal investigation department is about to bust a drug ring and its shipment, while the "WaPo" is hunting a poacher who has so far managed to evade capture every time.While inspecting a refrigerated container, Arda and Frank suddenly find themselves locked in! No wonder, because this is where the drugs are hidden. The two manage to send a message and their location, but their joy is short-lived because the container is being loaded! The situation is dire: how long can they survive in the cold? Hunter and secretary Lena set out to search for their colleagues. The poacher leads them on the right track.

A homeless man is found dead in the inner harbor. Carsten Heinrich from the criminal investigation department quickly dismisses the case as suicide and leaves it to the "WaPo" to identify the victim.Marcel Bautz is already waiting impatiently at the police station: he is missing his best friend—who turns out to be the dead homeless man. Bautz is certain that Hacki, whom he only knows by this name, was murdered, and the injuries to the dead man's body also point to this. But who would have a motive? But it's not just the jewel thieves who are on board, but also Frank van Dijk's father! He is the captain of the ship.

Bar owner Helga, who keeps her colleagues from the "WaPo" happy behind the bar, is attacked and shot.The attack on the landlady of their local pub causes consternation. The entire police force wants to solve the case as quickly as possible and bring the perpetrator to justice. To this end, even Jäger and his archrival Carsten Heinrich from the criminal investigation department form an alliance. All witness statements incriminate Tarik Alkan, who was the first to help Helga, but was the family man really the perpetrator?

What begins as a pleasant evening on the banks of the Rhine ends with an unexpected call-out for Inspector Arda Turan. The former competitive swimmer pulls a lifeless diver from the river. But was it really an accident? Jäger's suspicions are also aroused and the "WaPo" team begins its investigation. The dead man is Vincent Kraus, who ran a diving school on the Ruhr. His partner Sven Moeller quickly becomes the prime suspect, as he has repeatedly embezzled company money: did Vincent Kraus find out and have to die because of it? The dead man's wife also has a motive. Vincent wanted to leave her.

Expensive paintings are stolen from the Duisburg Art Gallery, and the "WaPo" is called in to investigate. But before Jäger can look into the robbery more closely, his past catches up with him.He is picked up by the LKA (State Criminal Police Office)! There are new developments in the case that cost Jäger his job with the criminal investigation department: Jäger is suddenly considered the prime suspect.
