Damián and Carolina suffer a serious accident. Paramedics recover only Damián's body, and the police begin investigating the events. When his wife cannot be found, Santiago learns that Damián and Carolina were lovers.

Santiago and Raquel learn that Damián and Carolina were planning to travel to Miami on the night of the accident. Raquel is consumed by rage and explodes, thinking she was a fool for not realizing the betrayal.

Raquel discovers that Damián is receiving gestures of gratitude from Carolina. To clear up the misunderstanding, Raquel speaks with her and explains that the gift she received was actually from her, and that Damián took the credit. Upon hearing this, Santiago confronts Carolina for having lied to him about the dedication written inside the cookbook.

Damián finds Carolina admiring a pair of very expensive shoes in a shop window, and as a gallant gesture, he offers to buy them for her. Suddenly, Damián and Carolina share a dangerous moment of closeness that ignites their desire to be together.

Vicente tells Santiago that some time ago he saw Carolina walking hand in hand with an elegant man. Santiago feels enraged, thinking that his wife was merely superficial and attracted to money.

Carolina begins to feel misunderstood by Santiago. She thinks he only sees her as a servant who should devote herself to the home, but she wants to feel fulfilled. Determined to grow, she decides to start doing business with Raquel, even if it causes conflict with Santiago.

Miriam asks Andrés for help to prove that Raquel is guilty of the accident Damián suffered. If she finds the necessary evidence, Raquel could end up alone on the streets or spend years behind bars.

Antonio calls Santiago and informs him that Carolina has been found. Meanwhile, Miriam speaks with her son at the hospital, and when she tells him that Carolina has finally been located, Damián suffers a heart attack.

The police conduct forensic examinations on Carolina's body and discover that she was eight weeks pregnant. They also determine that the cause of her death was a gunshot wound directly to the heart.

Azucena notices Andrés's anger when she sees the police investigating the company's finances. Andrés justifies himself by claiming that the diverted funds were to help his cousin and Raquel, but Godoy already has him in his sights, since Andrés would be the one who benefits the most if Damián were to die.

Laura tells Santiago that one of his daughter's classmates has information about a class trip they took. Santiago tries to talk to his daughter, but she denies having done anything wrong. Meanwhile, Lola does not hesitate to threaten Patricia, warning her that if she opens her mouth, she will kill her.

Mía arrives at the supposed party and runs into Joaquín and his friends. Suddenly, Mía is sexually harassed and Joaquín tries to abuse her. While touching her, Joaquín notices the cuts on her legs and immediately pulls away.

Lola tells Carolina that Andrés threatened her and demanded sex in exchange for not destroying the reputation of the catering business. Damián steps in and confronts Andrés face to face, warning him that Lola is a minor and that the police could get involved if he doesn't leave her alone.

With Lisa's help, Santiago and Raquel search for the cabin where Damián and Carolina were living. When they arrive, they discover that for three years their respective partners had been carrying on a secret relationship.

Vicente and Carolina confront each other when she prevents him from seeing his son because he is drunk. Vicente does not hesitate to threaten her, warning that if she continues interfering in his life, he will not hesitate to kill her.

Raquel realizes that her bank accounts have been frozen and that she has been left without money. Miriam's plan is to leave Raquel out on the street and watch her beg, since without Damián there is no way for her to obtain any benefits from the company.

Godoy speaks with Lisa to try to uncover more information about Carolina and Damián. Lisa tells him that Carolina visited La Toña, a well-known nurse who is very skilled at performing abortions. La Toña speaks up and confesses to Godoy that Carolina did indeed visit her three years ago, but that she changed her mind and decided not to go through with the abortion at the last moment.

Santiago explodes at Damián when he finds out that he offered Lola a job. Unable to control his anger, Santiago decides to confront Damián and demands that he leave his family alone and stay out of Carolina's life.

Raquel asks Santiago to beat up Andrés, since he tried to touch her and forcibly kiss her. Santiago promises her that nothing bad will happen to her and that from now on, she will no longer be alone.

Carolina buys a pregnancy test and Damián finds out by accident. Before Carolina can see the result of the test, she is interrupted by Lola. Later, Nico goes into the bathroom and discovers the test, thinking it belongs to his sister Lola.

Raquel and Santiago decide to return to the cabin to collect some of Damián and Carolina's belongings. While they are there, memories come flooding back, and they suffer once again upon realizing that they lived for three years surrounded by lies and deception.

Godoy looks for Vicente, and Vicente tells him what he saw at the cabin. Vicente claims that Santiago and Raquel are accomplices and that the two of them decided to remove Carolina from their path.

After noticing that Carolina became jealous when she saw her parents being affectionate, Mía is convinced that Carolina is a bad woman who longs to have Raquel's life and Damián's love.

Cinthia talks to Raquel about Damián's infidelities and confesses that she was also one of his lovers. Raquel cannot bear the idea that her own sister was capable of sleeping with her husband and hiding that secret from her for years.

After showing her the compromising video, Andrés forces Carolina to pay for his silence. Andrés grabs Carolina by force and makes her undress. Carolina tries to stop him, but Andrés's desire overpowers her.

Santiago confronts Andrés to ask him directly whether he knew about the relationship between Damián and Carolina. Andrés admits that he kept the secret for years, claiming it was only to avoid hurting Raquel.

Damián finds out that Carolina was threatened by Andrés and forced to pay for his silence. Unable to control his anger, Damián brutally beats Andrés, but fortunately Miriam arrives in time and manages to separate them. Andrés then blackmails Damián, asking him not to report the theft he committed at the company, in exchange for keeping quiet about his relationship with Carolina.

Alina keeps the deal she made with Nico and manages to free her father. Raquel is consumed by jealousy when she sees how attentive Alina is toward Santiago and can't help but voice her distrust of a beautiful woman. Santiago reassures Raquel, telling her that she is the only woman he wants and loves.

Vicente realizes that there is a relationship between Carolina and Damián. Seeing the worry on his sister's face, Vicente decides to help her by keeping her secret, as long as she helps him and pays him well for his silence.

Agustín gives his statement, and Godoy suspects that Nacho may have murdered Carolina to seek justice for his friend—or, even worse, that Santiago may have asked Nacho to kill her for being unfaithful.

Upon learning that Mía has serious problems, Damián becomes deeply affected and realizes he has been a bad husband and a terrible father. He feels that the situation with Carolina has gotten out of control and that all they have done is hurt innocent third parties. Because of this, he makes the decision to end his relationship with her.

Alina manages to tempt Nico and push him to the edge of desire. Alina ultimately has sex with Nico, but then asks him to also sleep with Mía so he can compare them and see who is better in bed.

Lola unexpectedly receives a letter from Patricia, which reveals some details about Miguel and warns her that Juan is a very disturbed and aggressive person. With this new lead, Lola does not hesitate to ask Laura for help in trying to clarify the death of her friend Patricia.

Gabriela continues to blackmail Damián and demands that they meet at her house; otherwise, she will show Raquel the recording in which Agustín confirms that there is something suspicious going on between Carolina and him. Because of Gabriela, Carolina is consumed by jealousy, believing that Damián is also sleeping with her.

Mía attacks Lola and speaks badly about her mother. In retaliation, Lola tells Mía that she saw Damián being very affectionate with Gabriela and plants the seed of doubt, making her believe that her father has a mistress. Mía tells Fede what Lola saw, and both feel distressed, fearing that their family might fall apart.

Raquel visits Damián in the hospital and confesses that she slept with Santiago. She is very honest and opens up about her feelings, admitting that seeing Santiago with another woman filled her with fear and made her realize she doesn't want to lose him, now that she has confirmed she is in love with him.

Mía blames Damián and makes him feel guilty by telling him that he is responsible for her getting hurt. During their father-daughter conversation, Mía directly confronts Damián and questions him, trying to find out whether he is cheating on Raquel.

Mía blames Raquel for being responsible for Damián leaving them. Raquel begins to believe that she was the one who pressured Damián too much and pushed him into making that decision. Santiago arrives to support Raquel and asks her not to fall apart in the face of this situation.

Christian prevents Carolina from being discovered by Gabriela at the hotel and is shocked to learn that she is Damián's lover. Christian assures Damián that he won't say anything about his secret, as he fully understands his situation.

Carolina demands that Damián win back his family and return to his wife, warning him that if he doesn't, she will leave him forever and their relationship will be over. Christian advises Damián to lie, telling him that if he loses Raquel, he will also lose Carolina.

Raquel talks to Santiago and they decide to stop hiding from everyone, choosing to do things the right way and talk to their children about their love. Santiago decides to plan his first romantic date with Raquel, but she cancels it out of fear of hurting Mía and Federico.

Mía flatly refuses to accept her mother having a romantic relationship with another man. Because of this, Mía decides to get involved in the family business affairs to keep an eye on Raquel and prevent her from seeing Santiago in secret.

Raquel and Santiago suffer upon realizing that their children oppose their relationship, so they both decide not to continue together despite the great love they feel. With a kiss full of passion, Raquel and Santiago say goodbye and go their separate ways, each choosing to look out for their family's well-being.

Laura goes mad and decides to go looking for Godoy at his apartment. When she arrives, she finds Cinthia there and, without letting her speak, accuses her of being a husband-stealer. Laura decides to take revenge and warns Rafael that the police already have him in their sights because of his connection to the drug trafficker "El Roger," thanks to the help Cinthia has given Godoy in his investigation.

Santiago learns that Carolina was expecting twins, but due to the hemorrhage, one of the babies died. Upon finding out, Carolina suffers a severe emotional breakdown and feels the need to ask Santiago for forgiveness, believing it was her fault that she lost their child.

Carolina suffers a serious fall and realizes that her water has broken. Worried about her baby's health, Carolina answers Damián's call and asks him for help. Damián immediately takes her to the hospital, and the doctor assumes he is the father, so he goes into the operating room and witnesses the baby's birth.

Antonio gives Santiago the DNA test results, revealing that Benjamín is not his son. Santiago is devastated to learn of yet another betrayal by Carolina. Despite his pain, he makes it clear that no one will take his child away from him, because Benjamín will always be part of his family.

Vicente arrives drunk at Carolina's house and asks to meet Benjamín. Carolina tries to put a stop to her brother and demands that he stop extorting Damián. Vicente warns her that the truth about that night will soon come out, and that no one will ever believe her story of being a good and irreproachable woman again.

Vicente confronts Carolina about the torment he endures day after day because of her. Carolina's dark secret finally comes to light, and Vicente vents by revealing that he killed a man while defending his younger sister.

Santiago gathers the Becker family to ask for their support and obtain permanent custody of Benjamín. Mía decides to attend the meeting and brings Miriam with her, who is determined to fight him legally and destroy Santiago.

Santiago warns Miriam that he will not allow a piece of paper to take his son away from him. Miriam defends herself and threatens that she will not stop until she gains custody of Benjamín.

Fede continues to feel confused about his sexual preferences, so while talking to Lola, he asks her to help him figure out whether or not he is gay. Unexpectedly, Fede receives a kiss from his friend Dany, but he rejects it because he is not sure whether he is attracted to men.

Raquel cannot bear that Mía went so far as to put her life in danger because of the family problems caused by Damián's infidelity. For that reason, she decides not to make any more mistakes that could hurt her daughter and asks Santiago to separate.

Godoy tells Cinthia that they found the weapon used to kill Carolina. If the fingerprints match Nacho's, Santiago would also be implicated.

Raquel proposes a deal to Miriam in which she agrees to hand over all her shares in the company in exchange for leaving Benjamín in Santiago's custody.

Godoy informs Bebo that the fingerprints found on the murder weapon do not match his father's, so Nacho is innocent and is granted his freedom.

The possibility of having another baby in the Becker family excites Raquel so much that she ends up telling Carolina.

Carolina decides not to give Damián the opportunity to become Benjamín's godfather because he is still sleeping with Raquel and continues to hurt her with his actions.

Raquel loses control of her emotions, and Dr. Altube takes care of her to prevent her from relapsing into a severe crisis. Santiago offers to look after her and gives her all his love so she can recover away from all her problems.

For personal reasons, Alina agrees to lose Santiago's case in exchange for a large sum of money. Rueda distrusts her word, but it is his only option for Miriam to gain custody of Benjamín.

Raquel is kidnapped by the people who found her wandering the streets. Andrés is informed and they demand money in exchange for her freedom, while Santiago searches desperately for her throughout the town.

Finally, Miriam and Andrés manage to get the police to arrest Santiago and accuse him of Carolina's murder.

Miriam celebrates that Santiago is behind bars and will soon be declared guilty. To secure her victory and complete her revenge, she asks to negotiate with Alina.

With Rueda's help, Andrés devises a new plan to frame Santiago for Carolina's murder and for causing Damián's accident. To accomplish this, they will try to prove that he was extorting Becker and stealing money from his company.

Florencia becomes the talk of the town because of her great efficiency in the Alvarado household. Meanwhile, Raquel makes Carolina doubt by telling her that a woman like Florencia should not be anywhere near her husband.

The family court judge grants Miriam provisional custody of Benjamín. Upon learning this, Santiago loses control and suffers deeply from being unable to be with his son.

Desperate over Benjamín's situation, Santiago speaks with Abel, his cellmate, asking him to help him escape from prison.

Nicolás agrees to live temporarily with Alina, and she takes advantage of the situation by asking him for sex as payment for her legal fees and the work she is doing to free Santiago.

After receiving another anonymous call, Carolina speaks with Damián to express the fear she feels, believing that the woman who knows everything about their relationship is Raquel.

Damián's credit card is the key to identifying the murderer, and Antonio focuses on investigating to catch the person who is using that money.

Miriam and Raquel are informed that Damián's health condition is critical and that the probability of him waking up is almost nonexistent. Either of the two will have to make the decision to disconnect him or keep him…

Upon discovering the dirty dealings taking place within the company, Federico decides to confront Andrés and Miriam to stop them. He also demands that his father continue receiving medical care until every possible option has been exhausted…

Damián reveals to Azucena that he is deeply in love with Carolina. Damián attends Benjamín's baptism. Three years later, Santiago opens up to Raquel and assures her that she is his only friend and confidant.

Andrés decides to betray Miguel and exposes him as a threat to the cartel leader. Willing to negotiate, Andrés proposes turning his partner over to the police in order to save all the money that is at risk.

Damián finds out that Mía has defamed him by romantically linking him to Lola and decides to put a stop to her lies. The situation worsens when Santiago imagines that his daughter is suffering because of everything that is being said.

Santiago puts Raquel in a difficult position by asking her to choose between her love for him or staying with Damián. When he doesn't get the answer he was hoping for, Santiago decides to stop pressuring her and backs off.

Florencia advises Santiago to stay away from Raquel before he ends up getting hurt. His relationship with her has no future, especially now that Damián has woken up.

Vicente's situation worsens as he begins having hallucinations of Carolina. He denies being responsible for her death, but Lisa suspects that guilt is slowly destroying him and decides to tell Santiago.

Carolina is pressured to confess to her family that Damián is her lover. Tired of living in fear, she reaches her breaking point and decides to put a definitive stop to Vicente.

Sammy emotionally manipulates Mía and succeeds in making her want to murder Alina. Getting ahead of events, Sammy confesses to Nicolás the crime they committed.

After Santiago's accident, Raquel and Carolina grow closer and apologize for having hurt each other through their selfishness. They both decide to trust again and, with a warm embrace, become friends once more.

Raquel suffers as she has to tell Santiago that Damián's recovery depends on his family, and that she simply cannot leave the father of her children alone.

Nicolas, Bernardo and Santiago plan how to protect Lola from Juan's fits of madness. Federico seriously questions Damian at the hospital.

Damián, Santiago, and Raquel finally confront their feelings about the love triangle that has bound them together. Andrés murders Azucena for betraying him, while Carolina accidentally calls Nico and discovers that he is cheating on Santiago.

Andrés seduces Laura and convinces her to say on her news broadcast that what happened in the accident with Damián was just a simple robbery. Raquel confesses to Miriam that she is in love with Santiago, and Alina confesses to Santiago that she has fallen in love with him.

When he is discovered by Federico, Damián fears losing Carolina and proposes that they start a new life outside the country.

After the trip with Alina, Santiago tries to fix things with Raquel, but disappointed, she decides not to see him anymore and puts an end to their relationship.

In his delirium, Damián hallucinates Carolina and asks her for forgiveness for what happened. At that moment, Raquel overhears the confession and demands that he tell her whether he is the murderer.

Damián remembers the accident and blames Vicente for what happened. Meanwhile, Garrido is arrested by the police and confesses that another person, besides them and Vicente, arrived at the crime scene.

Santiago is devastated when he hears Carolina say she wants a divorce. Raquel tries to intervene so her best friends won't separate.

With Azucena's help, Fede begins to investigate to find out whether his uncle is involved in shady business dealings. Meanwhile, Andrés confesses to the police that he took the money from Damián's car.

The damage Damián caused is irreversible, and Raquel decides to ask him for a divorce so she can move on with her life by Santiago's side.

Raquel assures Santiago that she does not remember what she did the night of the accident. Damián goes looking for Raquel at Santiago's house. Shortly before the accident, Carolina and Santiago reconcile. Raquel and Damián announce that they will have a second honeymoon.

Andrés decides to kidnap Azucena and Federico to force them to hand over the evidence that implicates him in money laundering. Feeling betrayed, he loses control and strangles Azucena.

The Rivas case is closed after Damián Becker pleads guilty to Carolina's death. Andrés is killed in a shootout, and Alina is arrested by the police.
