Ismael refuses to help Lorena as her lawyer because he believes she ended Juan Pablo's life. Alejandro offers to take her case, but since there is not enough evidence, she receives a 45-year sentence.

Lorena discovers that Liseet plans to escape from prison with Ricky's help, so she warns her that if she wants to continue with the plan, she will have to include her, because she does not intend to spend the rest of her life in prison for a crime she did not commit.

After confirming that Lorena is among the inmates who escaped from prison, Ismael decides to look for her and begins to pursue Gabriela in order to find her whereabouts.

Lorena arrives at Alejandro's apartment to ask for his help and to make sure he will not turn her in to the authorities. He swears that he will find the evidence to prove that she is innocent.

After learning that Ismael had a relationship with Lorena, Juan Pablo's killer, Florencia confronts her husband and demands that he tell her the truth.

Nicolás lets his feelings take over and kisses Florencia. She asks him not to confuse things since she is a married woman and he is Ismael's friend.

Carmen discovers that Frida is working at the bar and demands that she leave along with her friends. Frida threatens to reveal to Darío that his wife used to go by the name "Perla" and worked for the Turk.

Alejandro confronts Lorena for hiding that she was romantically involved with Ismael. She argues that she did not think it was necessary to tell him since it is part of her private life. Upset by the lie, he throws her out of his house, warning her not to look for him again.

Sofía questions Alejandro about his interest in proving Lorena's innocence. He assures her that Lorena was wrongfully convicted.

Lorena finds Juan Pablo's cellphone, and when they investigate it, they discover that it has several calls to the same number. When they call it, Florencia answers.

Florencia is very nervous about who might have Juan Pablo's cellphone, so she sends Charo to her apartment to retrieve certain belongings. Alejandro asks Lorena to stop searching for evidence to prove her innocence.

Ismael believes the time has come to grow their family, so he asks Florencia to have a child with him. She assures him that she is willing to become a mother.

Gabriela assures Ismael that the love he felt for Lorena was not that great; otherwise, he would not be thinking about having a child with Florencia. He asks her never to mention his sister's name again.

Lorena is taking too many risks to prove her innocence, so Alejandro and Gabriela decide to stop helping her.

Lorena confesses to Ismael that she was never unfaithful to him because she loved him more than anyone in her life. He tells her that he was a happy man when he was by her side.

Lorena admits that it was wrong to meet with Ismael without telling her friends, so she decides to leave the bar to avoid causing more problems.

When Vicente discovers that Lorena did not leave the country and that Gabriela lied to him, he becomes upset over her betrayal. Gabriela asks him to understand, but he assures her that he will not betray her.

Ismael reprimands Nicolás for his lack of professionalism during the interrogation and lets him know that he is no longer part of the case of the escaped prisoners.

Lorena confirms through a phone call—and thanks to one of Florencia's dresses—that she was Juan Pablo's lover.

Ismael refuses to believe that Florencia was unfaithful to him with his friend Juan Pablo. Lorena regrets that the news may cause him great pain, but she assures him that she has proof of the affair.

Ismael is questioned by the press about the whereabouts of Lorena Martínez after it was reported that she never left the country, contrary to what had been announced, and that he was aware of everything.

Alejandro declares nationally that he is willing to prove Lorena's innocence, since her case was full of irregularities and false evidence, and asks her not to turn herself in to the authorities.

Florencia looks for Ismael to ask for his forgiveness and assures him that things with Juan Pablo got out of control. He no longer trusts his wife and questions whether she had anything to do with the death of his best friend.

Martha arrives at her son's bar seeking refuge from Esther's threats and confesses that she is very afraid, since if she does not gather the amount of money she demanded, she could become a victim of Estefanía's cruelty.

Martha gives Esther the money so she will leave her alone, but Esther forces her way into the bar and discovers that the fugitives work for Darío.

Lorena hides in her bedroom so she will not be discovered by Ismael. Martha tries to help them, but Carmen demands that she serve the customers or she will fire her.

Esther wants Lorena to cooperate with her; otherwise, she threatens to make an anonymous call to the police to reveal her whereabouts, so the freedom of everyone living in the house depends on her.

Arturo Márquez is captivated when he meets Montse. She does not hesitate to praise his excellent work, and as they say goodbye, he asks her not to let it be the last time.

Martha throws Lorena, Lisset, Frida, and Montse out of her house after feeling betrayed for going along with Esther, but not before standing up to her enemy for revealing to her grandson that she had been in prison.

Alejandro informs Lorena that Vilchis is willing to testify that she is innocent, so she will have to turn herself in to the authorities for the judge to overturn her sentence.

Alejandro is convinced that Florencia ordered the attack on Vilchis. Ismael defends her and insists it was Lorena, since things are not going as she expected. Amanda threatens Lorena.

Amanda discovers that Alejandro arranged to meet Lorena at a restaurant, so when she sees her, she runs to stop her.

Lorena contacts Ismael once again to prove her innocence, but he refuses to listen and assures her that the only thing he wants is to capture her so she can pay for her crimes.

Alejandro manages to have an article published against Arturo Márquez, claiming that in order to save his reputation, he does not care about harming anyone who gets in his way. Meanwhile, Ismael obtains a search warrant against Lorena's lawyer.

Lorena no longer wants to cause Alejandro any more trouble and thanks him for everything he has done for her. He swears that he will not give up on proving her innocence and surprises her with a romantic kiss.

Lorena says goodbye to her friends through a letter, in which she makes it clear that it was a joy to meet them and asks them to enjoy their trip to Brazil. Alejandro decides to run away with the love of his life, and they take refuge at his grandfather's house.

Lorena admits that with Alejandro she feels protected, supported, and happy. He confesses that in his next life he wishes to meet her sooner so he can spend more time by her side.

Alfredo informs Alejandro that the police have the entire town surrounded, so the only way to escape is by crossing the mountains. However, when he goes to get his motorcycle, Ismael and Patricio arrive at the cabin. Lorena does not want to turn herself in.

Verónica asks Vicente not to distract Gabriela since she is not performing well at work. Gabriela gets upset because Verónica is always insulting her over her sister's situation, so they argue, and Arturo steps in to stop them.

Lorena now fears being arrested, since while trying to flee they come across a checkpoint. Alejandro tries to calm her and tells the officers they are traveling to Chiapas to visit relatives, but the situation becomes complicated when they are asked for their identification.

Vicente finds in his father's office the man who was taking care of Vilchis in the hospital. Upon seeing him, he begins to suspect the connection Arturo Márquez might have in Lorena's case.

Amanda tries to enter the workshop to find out if Soledad really works there. Nicolás asks her to let him handle it, and when he comes face to face with the fugitive, he threatens to arrest her; however, Ureña is protected, and he fears for his life.

Alejandro is ambushed by Arturo's men, who overpower him to find out where Claudio Vilchis is. He fears for his life.

Vicente manages to find the woman he believes is Teo's mother, but when he asks her if she recognizes the boy in the photograph, he realizes that she is not in any condition to respond.

Ismael confesses to Florencia that he has tried to reciprocate her feelings to save their marriage, but he can no longer keep trying and believes the best option is to separate. She warns him that she will not give him a divorce.

Erick arrives at Alejandro's apartment desperate and begs him to contact Lorena, since Gabriela was run over and is in a coma. He connects the accident to the threat he received a few days earlier.

Frida swears to Carmen that she will not tell Darío anything about her past, but she begs her to leave her alone. Carmen agrees, since she knows Frida's secret—that she has a terminal illness.

Alejandro gets Lorena a nurse's uniform and helps her sneak into the intensive care unit so she can see her sister Gabriela.

Alejandro confronts Arturo's accomplice and accuses him of running over Lorena's sister. The man denies everything and tries to attack him, but Amanda steps in and stops him.

Darío reads the letter Matías left for Yulissa and discovers that a fugitive is living in his house. Without hesitation, he confronts Estrella to find out if it's true.

Darío threatens the fugitives with calling the police so they can be imprisoned again, but Lisset warns him that if they go back to jail, he and Martha will fall too for being accomplices.

Darío assures Lorena, Frida, Lisset, and Montse that he will not report them, but they have two days to leave the house and the Oasis. Lorena informs Alejandro that she will return to Guatemala, while her friends will travel to Brazil.

Natalia goes to the hospital after not feeling her baby move. Meanwhile, Frida is rushed in as an emergency after suffering a seizure, but one of the nurses admits that one of them looks familiar. Ismael receives a call alerting him to the presence of one of the fugitives at Clinic 34.

Martha tries to convince Darío to let Natalia stay in the house since she is about to become a mother. She begins to feel a strong pain in her back and the superior confirms that they are contractions and her baby is about to be born.

Lorena asks Gabriela to stay away from the Márquez family since they are responsible for destroying her life. Vicente overhears and tells her that she is also to blame.

Florencia is determined to ask Ismael for a divorce, but the news of her pregnancy makes her change her decision.

Florencia spots a woman in the distance who looks a lot like Lorena, but when she gets closer, she realizes it is actually Lorena Martínez herself.

Florencia assures her father that if Lorena Martínez finds out there were paid witnesses, they are doomed. He tries to calm her by telling her that to reopen the case, solid evidence is needed, and neither Lorena nor Alejandro have it.

Lorena tells Gabriela that Vicente is Juan Pablo's killer. She denies the accusation against her partner and assures her sister that she is just desperate to find the culprit.

Natalia manages to reunite with Daniel and tells him that she had a daughter. Excited, he asks to meet her; however, they are discovered by Amada.

Martha and Elenita hide in a room so they won't be discovered by Patricio, who shows up at Daniel's home to question him about his daughter's whereabouts. During the conversation, he hears a baby crying and asks if it is his newborn.

Florencia surprises Ismael at the apartment to tell him that she will not sign the divorce papers because she is pregnant.

Castro, as Vicente's lawyer, asks him to tell the truth so he can defend him properly and reminds him that this is not the first time he has been involved in a problem like this.

Arturo thanks Castro for getting Vicente out of jail and does not hesitate to remind him that thanks to his support, he obtained the Playa Dorada land that belonged to Juan Pablo's father.

Ismael pretends to be Alejandro and sends Lorena a message to meet up with her. When he sees her, he apologizes for not believing in her innocence and assures her that Arturo Márquez is the one responsible for Juan Pablo's death.

Nicolás warns Florencia that he will not allow her to keep his child away from him and says he is willing to give the baby his last name. She insists that the child is Ismael's.

Frida is arrested after an altercation at the market. While giving her statement, the judge identifies her as one of the fugitives, and Patricio informs Ismael that another of the most wanted has been captured.

Martha apologizes to Patricio for forcing him to neglect his duty as a commander and thanks him for allowing Frida to spend her final days with dignity. He listens to her and asks her not to look for him again.

Verónica takes advantage of the gathering to remember her beloved and reveals in front of everyone that Juan Pablo avoided going to the construction company because he did not want to run into Arturo Márquez due to the hatred he felt for him.

Alejandro tells Lorena that Charo refuses to accept that Arturo was the one who took Juan Pablo's life and instead blames Castro. Lorena confirms that the lawyer was not invited to the event organized by Márquez.

Amanda is determined to arrest "the surgeon" and Aidé, but when she arrives at the bar, she is recognized by the fugitives, who do not hesitate to threaten her and put her in danger.

Alejandro informs Charo that Juan Pablo discovered Arturo's scam involving the Playa Dorada land, and out of fear of going to prison, Márquez decided to take his life.

Lorena feels lost knowing that people will not rest until they find her to claim the reward offered by Arturo Márquez. Ismael and Alejandro plan to take her to a safe place.

Patricio reads in one of the call descriptions that Lorena Martínez is working as a waitress at a bar called Oasis in the Álamos neighborhood and, to avoid being identified, she uses a colorful wig.

Patricio finds Lorena at the Oasis and is about to arrest her; however, Eréndira surprises them to take her and hand her over to Arturo Márquez, but things quickly spiral out of control.

Montse refuses to accept that Martha and Darío are being detained for protecting them, so she asks Alejandro to help her turn herself in so they can regain their freedom.

Lorena receives a call from Gabriela, but it is actually Arturo, who threatens to harm her sister. She agrees to go to the apartment to meet Juan Pablo's killer, but the situation spirals out of control when Lisset causes an accident to stop Arturo and save her friend.

After proving that she did not kill Juan Pablo, Lorena marries Alejandro and fulfills her dream of becoming a pharmaceutical chemist. Lisset and Montse each start the business they had always dreamed of, and Frida becomes a mother, but her illness ultimately takes her life.
