Daniela Denby-Ashe established her television career as a British actor, notably as Sarah Hills in the BBC soap EastEnders from 1995 to 1999. She then became widely known for portraying Janey Harper in the long-running BBC sitcom My Family, appearing in over 100 episodes between 2000 and 2011. Her dramatic range was showcased in the lead role of Margaret Hale in the 2004 BBC miniseries North and South, followed by appearances as Lorraine Donnegan in Waterloo Road and guest roles in TV series such as Silent Witness.
