Courtney Thorne-Smith began her extensive television career in the late 1980s, gaining early recognition as Alison Parker on the popular Fox drama Melrose Place, appearing in 158 episodes. Following her departure from Melrose Place, she transitioned to another hit series, portraying Georgia Thomas in the legal comedy-drama Ally McBeal from 1997 to 2000. Thorne-Smith then starred as Cheryl in the long-running ABC sitcom According to Jim for 182 episodes, a role she held from 2001 to 2009. Later in her television actor career, she joined the cast of the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy, appearing in 52 episodes between 2010 and 2015.
