He gained widespread recognition for his starring role as architect David Vincent, who uncovers an alien invasion, in the iconic science fiction series The Invaders, which aired on ABC. Thinnes remained a familiar face on TV for decades, appearing in various soap operas such as General Hospital and One Life to Live, and later as District Attorney Alfred Wentworth in the long-running crime drama Law & Order.
