An Jae Hwan began his television acting career in the late 1990s, appearing as Kim Byung Dal in the 1997 KBS2 series A Bluebird Has It. He subsequently took on roles such as Crown Prince Sado in the 1998 MBC historical drama The Great King's Road and Kim Tae Poong in the 1999 SBS series Happy Together. An Jae Hwan continued his work into the 2000s, portraying Lee Jong Shik in MBC's Mr. Duke and later Choi Jae Hyuk in the 2004 KBS2 drama Beautiful Temptation. His television appearances also included the character Lee Young Chan in the 2006 SBS series Snow Flower.
