John Forsythe's extensive television career began in the 1950s, where he first gained prominence starring as Bentley Gregg in the sitcom Bachelor Father from 1957 to 1962. He later became widely recognized as the unseen voice of Charlie Townsend in the series Charlie's Angels and played Michael Endicott in To Rome with Love. Forsythe then solidified his status as a television actor with his defining role as oil magnate Blake Carrington on the prime-time soap opera Dynasty, appearing in over 200 episodes from 1981 to 1989. His work also included hosting the People's Choice Awards.
