John Nettles

John Nettles began his extensive television acting career in the early 1970s, notably appearing as Paul in the BBC sitcom The Liver Birds for two years. His breakthrough came playing the titular detective Jim Bergerac in the popular BBC One crime drama Bergerac, a role he inhabited for 87 episodes across a decade. Following this, Nettles became globally recognized as DCI Tom Barnaby in the long-running ITV mystery series Midsomer Murders, starring in 81 episodes over 14 years.
